  1. Play is for anyone not just children. My brother and I play all the time with his best friend. The other day we started shooting each other with our imaginary guns telling each other our weakness. Our weaknesses were what we are allergic too. So I said to my brother I was shooting him with penicillin and to his friend I said I was shooting him with peanut butter. They both died and I won because I'm not allergic to anything. They both shot each other o that made it worse but whatever hey shot me with didn't harm me since I'm not allergic to anything. We ran around my house going PEW PEW PEW with our imaginary guns. I'm am the champion. So like I said play is not only for children. My brother(20), His friend(19) and I(18) so we are all leglly adults that still have fun playing

  2. ..Play(ing) are the moments anyone has where they escape from the real world. My brother and I would always be the Power Rangers or even Blue's Clue's. We would be laughing and enjoying our time. We would go on for hours at a time, sometimes not even eat anything. We're a lot older now and he's always gone with because of his job. We still play, but not the same way we used to as kids. We play other types of games that still bring joy to our lives. It's for the reason that when someone plays, they feel different and it's a monets of excitment for them.

  3. Playing is when you use your imagination or objects to entertain yourself and others. My twin sister and i would pretend that we had a little store. We would bring out boxes and i'll will go and put them in a shopping cart. She would then wait for me in the register and she would scan my food. After a while, I would get bored so I would become a bad customer. I would get all the boxes and throw them on the floor; making her pick them up. She would then start crying and I would get in trouble.

  4. Playing is having fun. When I was a kid, I lived in a house with a huge attic and I would play in there with my friends all of the time. One day me and my friend were at my house and my mom was watching the titanic. We were bored, so we went into the attic, pretended it was a ship and played titanic. I was the captain and I dont remember what my friend was but it was about 100 degrees in there. did we care? no, cause we were playing and having fun, and thats all we cared about.

  5. Play means to pretend and have fun, either by oneself or with others. When I was younger, my brothers and I would play in the front yard after school. We would run through the cold sprinklers over the bright, green grass under the blistering sun. Following each other around in circles on our tricycles that burned my thighs while waiting for the ice cream man. FInally he would arrive and the kids in the neighborhood seemed to come out of nowhere to save the melting ice cream. After a while, our father would pull into the drive way and we knew it was almost time for dinner.

  6. PLAYING IS HAVING AN IMAGINATION ENJOING YOURSELF AND KEEPING YOURSELF ENTERTAINED. WHEN I WAS ABOUT NINE YEARS OLD, MY COUSINS, STEP SISTER, AND I WERE AT MY HOUSE PLAYING. I CAME UP WITH THIS BRILLIANT IDEA TO MAKE A SLIDE USING A SHEET AND CONNECTING IT TO MY BUNK BED. IT WAS A SUCCESS WE WERE GOING DOWN THE SLIDE ONE AT A TIME WHILE TWO PEOPLE HOLD THE BOTTOM OF THE SHEET. WHEN IT WAS MY TURN , THE SHEET CAME OUT OF THE BED AND I WAS RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL. MAN, I GUESS THAT WHAT I GET FOR PLAYING.

  7. By playing, children can express their imagination and have fun while exercising and obtaining social skills at the same time. When I was in elementary school, I used to play with my friends all the time. We would either make up scenarios like play house where we learn about family and how things work around a house. We would play games like tag or hide and seek which are fun cause they get you running around. We would play board games which challenge your mind and help you learn at the same time while playing. I would play sports with my friends such as basketball, baseball, volleyball, and they are good for you because they give you exercise and keep you fit. I loved using my imagination and creating more games for me and my friends to play because nothing was funner than playing with my friends and feeling the freedom.

  8. Playing for kids is like grownups in vacation. I remember when my cousin and I played with our hot wheel saying that which one of ours were better. To both of us that was fun and we didn't really care what people thought. The only thing that mattered was that we were having fun. That was 10 years ago, but now we have our own fun. We are both in college now but we still have but in different ways. We go play soccer, workout, or go out to party.

  9. Kids play because its their nature to have fun. As a kid theirs no worries about anything theirs no such thing as consequence. As they play with others they learn many thing one of those things is trust and communication with one another. They play so they get rid of their boredom. Kids minds open and they think of nothing but playing almost like an adrenaline.its good for kids to play because theirs alot of new things to learn.Playing allows them to grow and learn which is a good thing to have in the future.

  10. Playing is a way to express our freedom and to show the necessity of socialization.

My cousin's and I always played at my aunts house. There wasn't really anything in the yard except a tree, an empty tool shed, and a huge grass lot. We made the shed into a club house and used the tree as our "secret headquarters". To this day I don't know how we could have even had fun but we did, and we played for hours at a time. It made us closer and it got out the fun, hyper energy that we rarely can get out as adults.

  11. Playing for me represents freedom. It was a time when i allowed my imagination to run freely. I had the chance to be whomever i wished to be. Playing is the activity that allows the mind to enter a relaxed state, and relieves children/ people from the stresses that we embark throughout everyday life. My childhood consisted of imaginary thoughts and fantasies. Playing for me was a scapegoat from the real world. I entered a world that was fun and carefree, and where the frustrations of school could not enter.

  12. Play in all sorts can define who we are. One person's definition of fun may be different from someone else's. But playing in all forms from children all the way to adult represents happiness and the power to express yourself. This can be done by using your imagination and letting it free you from your stresses in the real world. Most of the memories I have as a young adult are from playful moments that I've had with the people that I care about most. In my family we make it a point to keep things playful and light. That's just how we do things and it makes it so easy to want to be around each other.

  13. When I was little, me and my two sisters would hold double dutch contests in our driveway. Next door neighbors would come over, people from down the street would even come. It was like a huge block party. I was the youngest and I think I was the best at double dutching. I used to get away with so much. When it was the next person's turn to go, I would say that I messed up and I should get another turn. The meaning of play to me is having fun, enjoying yourself, and not having to worry about any other things like responsibilites.

  14. I have to disagree with Sal. Kids do get consequences and they know they do so sometimes they are afraid to play a certain game for fear of being punished

  15. I think people play so they can escape the real world and be in a place where there are no troubles. Children also play so the can enjoy themselves and not be bored at home. It is also a way that children learn how to socialize with other children. When I was small I really liked to play with my brother. He is the only boy so he did not have a brother to play with. I remember that we would imagine that we were soldiers and that we were trying to escape the enemies. I did not want my brother to come and play barbies with me and my sister so I tried out his games and I like them. Playing is a way to have fun and interact with new people or family.

  16. I know for a fact that children NEED play. They can't sit still for anything -- and if they do, its because you gave em' a good spanking. I remember as a child, my favorite (well not favorite, but I said it a lot) thing to say was, "I'm bored!" And it was always at my Grandma's house. I mean I love the lady, but there was NOTHING a kid could to do to keep busy at that household, so my brother and I would have to literally dig our way through her hall closet searching for SOMETHING we could have fun with. And fortunately, 90% of the time we found something. As kids, we're on the move, we're curious, adventure calls us, and it's all just a part of growing up, learning, and well... being a kid.

  17. I agree with both Martin and Randy... and everyone else! Play is when we (everyone) get to use our imaginations and its fun. Like Reyes said, playing isn't just for children. I play with my 2 year old nephew every night almost immediately when I come home for school. We play hide and seek, tag, monster, and we scare his mother every single night. Just yesterday I was using my imagination and I was a horse. I was on my hands and knees while he was on my back making noises and singing "M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E.. Its the Mickey Mouse club house... Come inside, its fun inside!" Point is playing can be anything ranging from being a silly kid to playing around in the office.

  18. Everyone wants to play at some point in their life no matter who they are. When I was younger one time when it was raining I wanted to do something. So I went to my younger brother and asked if he would play with me. He then said yes and we both started to just fool around. We enjoyed it very much. But after a while we were starting to get bored of what we were doing. We then ended up watching tv not doing anything but I still wanted to play. So I sujested that we go and play some video games that we had that were two players. He then picked one out and we played that game for the rest of the day. So to me no matter who you are there will be times in your life where you want to stop what you are doing and just have fun.

  19. At the age of eight, I realized that boredom is a option. I played in any situation. It wouldnt matter where i was as long as my imagination was with me. One saturday, I was forced to attend church with my parents. It was very boring so I decided to entertain myself by focusing on different objects and stare at it for as long as I can. I usually lasted a few minutes before blinking but mass flew by. Before I knew it, we were allowed to leave.

  20. Play is something I've always taken advantage of as a child. Everyday after elementary school I would spend hours outside playing with friends or even by myself. I remember playing wall ball against the side of my house with a few friends from down the street. We would come up with new rules and moves every week. With our expanding imaginations, we also came up with names for our moves. "Rainbow", was hitting the ball against the wall, then running under it as it bounced high above our heads. I find it unexplainable how children come up with new games to play and how they learn to make their own fun. Children will continue to use their imaginations to create different games and play with one another.

  21. I believe play plays an important life in everyone's life. Ahh play plays!
I personally love playing! i dont care what anyone says. Last weekend we had a family and all of my little cousins wanted to play hide and seek and they asked everyone to play with them but everybody said no except for me, so we played for about an hour then we took a break, and we began to play tag! i had so much fun and all of my little cousins love me. When i was a kid i use to always play hide and seek and i still do, well whenever theres kids around because no one my age wants to play with me.

  22. Kids play because its natural for them to want to have fun. Everyone likes fun. you cant deny that.
As a child there arent many worries to think about. I agree that a child may ponder a few problems but they only ponder, they cant solve a big problem entirely because there little. SO play is a way to either get your mind off of it and relax a little or just to enjoy yourself with the years u have before adulthood. Playing as a kid is one of the happiest memories i have had. i loved Running around enjoying the environment i was in. Also being with friends and family that were having just as much fun as u were. The sense of happiness that brings u is unimaginable. You find a way to enjoy yourself and have as much fun as possible. You think about only the positive things and not the negative.Ones troubles just drift away for the moment in which u are playing without a care in the world.
